The food is definitely authentic New Mexican yumminess! I had a bowl of the green chile stew & I'm sure I'll be craving it for a long time. Yum! The atmosphere is simple, the service was super nice, although a little slow, but they said they weren't usually that hopping on Tuesday nights... Definitely recommend it & will happily go there again if I'm ever in Santa Fe.

Great traditional New Mexican food. Wait staff is friendly and efficient. Best Natillas around.

Difficult location, but this restaurant and lounge is another one of my favorites when it comes to dive bars in Santa Fe. It definately has a "local's-only" type of feel, but once you get past that, it's quite harmless. The food is southwestern / New Mexican-centric, but really you want to go here for the well-poured drinks and the people-watching opportunities.

Unlike other reviewers we had a good experience. Great Margaritas and we found the food to be good and plentiful.

Good chips & salsa. Fantastic red chile cheese fries. We tried their carnitas served with potatoes & a side of chile. I preferred their red chile over their green.

I grew up on this food, literally. NEW Mexican style, all the way. I'm starting to sound like a broken record. Lots of cheese, lots of chile. They use some funky oil now to fry their tortillas, which doesn't agree with some people (I've heard).

Great homey locals spot with famed guacamole and chiles. It appears to be a very well kept secret--maybe too well kept; my latest visits it looked like the recession is really taking a toll...try it!

Giant space, has more of a diner feel to it. The menu is huge, yet there was no single chile relleno dish. A relleno came with the combo platter, so I jumped on it. I didn't have to wait too long for the food, although I certainly filled up on tortilla chips in the meantime. The combo platter was very good. It came with a relleno (nice and deep fried), a taco, and a cheese enchilada (rice and beans, of course). The enchilada was probably the best part of the meal. I got a sopapilla, and felt soooo full. Things pick up here around 6:00-6:30. There is also some nice outdoor seating as well.

Went to this restaurant because my coworkers took me out as part of my goodbye lunch. I ordered the special that day and it was just okay. I do like the layout of the restaurant. Service could be better. We were in a big group and the lady rarely came back to check on us. What made my day was their sopapilla! Hahaha Their sopapilla was huge and it was simply delicious.

Great Service at this restaurant that serves traditional new mexican cuisine. The portions are generous and priced reasonably. If you come on friday evening or sunday afternoon they have mariachis which adds a nice touch. This family owned restaurant is a nice place to go when your craving good old fashion nm food. I haven't been here after hours but they do have a bar in the back and host some dances from time to time.

We can here with huge expectations. Huge. Last year when we stayed at the Fairfield Inn (down the street) the staff told us this was the best New Mexican food in town. A must in Santa Fe, they said. We tried twice and arrived during periods they were closed or stopped serving food and just had the bar opened. Fortunately, this year, while driving through, we were seated and got the try the famed food, we were told. Compared to the other places we ate in Northern New Mexico, the food at PC's was average, at best. After a recommendation from our waitress (who was very good) we each ordered the chicken burrito. Mine was covered Christmas Style (red and green chili) and my friend had all red. Sure, the burritos are massive, but the flavor fell short to match any of the other places in town we tried. The chicken inside the burrito was bland and the sauce was just ok. It wasn't the awesome New Mexican experience we we pegged. Still, the food here isn't bad, but might suffer compared to the wonderful competitors nearby. Santa Fe is loaded with top-notch and affordable New Mexican options. If you are in town just for a day or two, you might want to try some place else. But, for a local why not give it a chance. The burritos are massive. Yes, massive.

Good! Dining area too bright - we sat in bar area. Great service by Max! I took fellow yelper advice and tried the combo - so good! Oh the chips/salsa good - guacamole is a must! Very casual and they seem to close down early but highly recommended!

The guacomole was great. Menu leaned toward norte americano but did have some good NM staples. Enchiladas carnitas were awesome with green chile and a fried egg on top. Service was outstanding and friendly and beer was cold. Only bummer was they didn't serve any local brews. A shame with Santa Fe brewing less than a mile away.

I've been looking for places off the beaten path where Santa Feans head for good food, away from the crowded restaurants for tourists with their high-end prices. I think PC's fits the bill. The food was traditional, the chile had a kick, and the menu covered all the basics without being too big (big menus scare me, just do a few things right and that's good for me). First of all, sit in the bar. I think that room has more character (and characters). The waitress did claim they had almost any bottle beer we could want and but not our first three choices. But hey, we didn't go there for beer, it was for chile. I think the only other issue was one of my friends pointed out the honey for the sopapillas probably wasn't honey. Okay, I've seen the expose' on the local news, honey is hard to come by but hey, it's a sopapilla and it tastes great. My dinner companions got cheese enchiladas with red and an egg, I got the bowl of red chile with beans and carnitas. No complaints. Dinner for three with drinks was about $45, awesome for this town. We'll be going back.

Horrible service even by Santa Fe standards. Mediocre Mexican food, full bar, seldom open.

PC's restaurant is awesome, however their hours of operation can be tricky; they are "closed" on Mondays yet Tues-Sunday... they open for breakfast at 11AM - 2 PM then they reopen for dinner at "5:30 -9 PM ...the carnitas plate and stuffed sopaipillas are awesome, great service and they are clean as far as presentation goes...

Maybe it was an off night, we arrived and were given a menu at the front counter and told there should be a table in there somewhere... We found a table and looked over the menu and saw that they charge extra for chips and salsa (seriously should have been the second clue of bad things to come). The chips came out a bit stale and the salsa was not great. Then came out the main course a chicken burrito. The thing was massive... then I took the first bite. Well the chicken was salty and Horrible, the beans were still hard and that was all that was inside. They smothered it in a overly spicey red sauce. Try to imagine bad chicken some raw uncooked beans in tobassco sauce, if that sounds you are insane and the perfect customer for this place... Long story short if you are hungry go anywhere else the food is BAD if you are starving and standing in front of the place, save your money and just go to the dumpster in the back the food there could not be any worse.

My boyfriend first took me here a few months ago and then about a week ago. I was reminded of how much I loved the place! We arrive a little before opening, which is the only downside of the place, their hours are a little off. We sat in the lounge and munched on chips and salsa before going into the dining room. I had the stuffed sopa and the red chile hit the spot. I'm usually very picky about it but it was so delicious. Also the chips were fresh and cripsy and warm. The waitress was a little forgetful but still very nice. This is one of our favorite places to eat.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
